A key pad assembly is provided to exclude a possibility of an erroneous operation of an apparatus and contribute to the slimming of the apparatus by reducing the volume of a terminal. A key pad assembly(10) includes a main board(30) and a key pad(20). At least one metal dome(31) is installed at a corresponding position of the main board. The key pad assembly is used as a data inputting member of various electronic apparatuses. The key pad is installed in the top of the main board and presses the metal dome. The key pad is used as a touch pad according to mode switching. The keypad includes a keytop layer(22), a touch EL(Electro-luminescence sheet) sheet, a base layer(23), and a protrusion(231). A keytop(21) has a plurality of keytops marked with corresponding characters and figures. The touch EL sheet is laminated on a predetermined nonconductive layer and includes a conductive layer to which a predetermined voltage is applied. The conductive layer is laminated in a lower part of the keytop layer.
