An information transmission method during a call in a portable terminal is provided to enable a user to transmit particular information to the other party's portable terminal during a call by searching and selecting a telephone number or a note stored in the user's terminal, thus there is no need for the user to input the telephone number of the other party's terminal or separately writing a short message. A notepad menu is selected while a speech mode is carried out(210), and a note list of the notepad menu is displayed. At least one note is selected from the note list(220). The at least one note is transmitted to the other party's portable terminal(230). The speech mode is maintained. When the at least one note is transmitted, a short message including the at least one note is generated, and the short message is transmitted to the other party's terminal.
