摘要 <p>A first mixer and second mixer(24) supply material to a compressed air driven tool filling unit(35) which fills a molding tool(36). The tool filling unit(35) comprises a tubular attachment(31) connected via a supply line(32) to a pressure generator(33) and/or pressure accumulator(34). A volumetric metering unit(23) for the material mixture is located either between the supply line and the filling fitting or in either of these components. The metering unit(23) comprises a cylindrical outer part bordered by wall plates on one of which an internal impeller(45) is mounted and powered by a drive shaft and drive unit(52), preferably a speed controled electric motor, linked to a control unit(41). Vanes on the hub of the impeller divide the inner chamber of the housing(42) into equal volume conveying chambers. The vanes run close to the inner surface of the wall plate. A material inlet is located in the outer part. Connectors in the wall plates allow attachment of the air supply line(32) and filling attachment(31). The filling attachment, metering unit(23) and second mixing unit(24) are on a slide(39) moving parallel to the floor(6). Air pressure is generated by a fan(61) whose speed is controled. A valve(63) in the air supply line(32) controls the volumetric flow rate and is linked to the control unit. The filling attachment is a square cross-section tube(65) connected by a flange to the metering unit(23). A cover(68) for the tube permits easy cleaning. A filling level sensor(73) projects into one end of the filling tube and has a sensing optical fiber(72) connected to the control unit. At the end of the filling tube there is a pipe union(76) for purging residual material mixture(2) and returning it to the first mixer(14). Inner surfaces of the filling tube are made of plastic or ceramic. The tool is carried on a transporting system such as a rotating table or an endless plate or chain conveyer. Data transfer between the control unit and the transporting system may be made by wireless signal transmitting and receiving units in these units. Independent claims are included for: a) a process for manufacturing a component(4) from a mixture(2) of flock particles, in particular plastic foam, in which the flock and a binder are combined in a first mixer and fed via a metering unit to a tool filling unit(35) from which it is forced into a molding tool(36) under pressure whose level is controled relative to time and/or volume; b) a molded product(4) made from flocked plastic foam and comprising zones with differing flock structure to give different elasticity and/or strength joined to each other via transition zones.</p>
