The invention relates to an austenitic stainless steel strip having an elastic limit Rp_0.2 which is greater than or equal to 600 MPa, a breaking load Rm which is greater than or equal to 800 MPa, an elongation A₈₀ which is greater than or equal to 40 % and a bright surface finish of the bright annealed type. The invention also relates to a method for the continuous production of said austenitic stainless steel strip.
