PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a meat slicer S excellent in safety and operability without causing troubles during slicing work and in cleaning and maintenance work after finishing the work by preventing the occurrence of a collision accident between a worker and a meat box 4 caused by the lateral or vertical movement of the meat box 4 in an exposed state. SOLUTION: This slicer S is provided with the meat box 4 to send out meat by being supported by a machine base 1 to reciprocatively move in a specific lateral or vertical section, and a cutter 2 for cutting the tip of the meat sent out from the tip of the meat box 4. A meat box cover 12 for covering the meat box 4 over the whole region of the moving range of the meat box 4 is provided. The ground height of the upper edge of the meat box cover 12 is made to have a dimension in which human hands cannot touch a movable part, and all or a part of the ceiling of the meat box cover 12 is opened.
