PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a display part to turn both clockwise and counterclockwise as viewed from the front from a vertical to a horizontal positions while maintaining the display screen in a large size. SOLUTION: A folding mobile phone (folding portable communication device) includes: a first housing 3 including a liquid crystal display part 2 (display part) at a surface thereof; a second housing including an operating part at a surface thereof; and a hinge section 6 connecting the first housing 3 and the second housing to allow the first and second housings to be freely opened and closed in their folded form. A cam mechanism 10 (support mechanism) supports the liquid crystal display part 2 to turn both clockwise and counterclockwise as viewed from the front from the vertical to the horizontal positions.
