<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of reducing the number of recording materials to be wasted at error occurrence in the middle of a printing operation. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: an image forming part to form an image on the recording material; and an error detecting part to detect the error occurrence. The image forming apparatus also includes: a position detecting part to detect the position of the recording material staying in the image forming apparatus and a both-side unit; and a specifying part to specify the error cause. The image forming apparatus also includes a judging part to judge whether or not the image formation on the recording material staying in the both-side unit can be continued based on the detected recording material position and the specified error cause before urging the operator to perform an error eliminating processing. The image forming apparatus also includes a conveyance control part to convey the recording material to the image forming part so as to continue the image formation on the recording material staying in the both-side unit when being judged that the image formation can be continued. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
