<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing device for a wheel that achieves reduction in weight and cost, and improvement in endurance of the device. <P>SOLUTION: In a base portion of a wheel attaching flange 6 of a hub wheel 1, a cylindrical-shape wheel pilot portion 17 that extends to an outboard side is formed. In an outer circumference surface of the wheel pilot portion 17, a recessed portion 17a with a forged surface is formed by forging, while in a portion of the wheel pilot portion 17 other than the recessed portion 17a, a protruding portion 17b having a processed surface of an uniform cylindrical shape by turning is formed. The recessed portion 17a and the protruding portion 17b are alternately and equally arranged at five locations in the outer circumference of the wheel pilot portion 17, and thereby reducing weight without reducing the rigidity of the hub wheel 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
