STREET LIGHT SYSTEM

A streetlight system is provided to decrease power consumption and maintenance expenses by using light emitting diodes and to transmit information obtained by a sensor to a vehicle. A streetlight includes a light source(120) having plural light emitting diodes, a light source driving part(110) for driving the light source, a communication part(130) communicating with an adjacent streetlight and a vehicle, a sensor part(140) for sensing peripheral information, and a controller(100) for controlling the light source driving part according to the information received by the communication part and the information detected by the sensor part. The sensor part has at least one of an illumination sensor, a GPS(Global Positioning System), a humidity sensor and a motion sensor.
