PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system making it easy to determine the adequacy of a recommended route passing through an added via-point. SOLUTION: The navigation system includes a rear seat side controller 200, a rear seat display monitor 24, and a switch 25 on the rear seat side separately from a front seat side controller 100 and a front seat display monitor 14. A CPU 101 of the front seat side controller 100 computes the recommended route in the background for route guidance processing, based on information on the added via-point inputted by the switch 25. The recommended route presently followed for route guidance and the recommented route after the via-point is added are simultaneously displayed on the front seat side monitor 14.
