<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiple-view directional display, which displays two or more images such that each image is visible from a different direction. <P>SOLUTION: The multiple-view directional display includes image display elements and parallax optics (13, 13', 35, 35', 35'', 35''', 42, 46, 67, 79, and 84). Each image display element includes a first substrate (7, 25, 25', 29, 31, 31', 34, 34', 34'', 34''', 36, 39, 39', 44, 49, 49', 68, 71, and 80), a second substrate (6) and the image display layer (8) sandwiched between the first and second substrates.
