The suction grip (10) grips workpieces (32) by means of a vacuum connection (14), an elastic sucker (20) and a sucker holder (12). The sucker has a sealing lip (22) bounding a suction cavity on the side facing the workpiece. The suction cavity is connected to the vacuum connection. The suction grip has a means of detecting and displaying wear condition involving a change of color as the sucker becomes worn.
