Various methods and devices are provided for facilitating movement of a s pinal connector to allow for coupling of the connector to spinal fixation el ements and anchors. In one exemplary embodiment, a spinal connector is provi ded having a receiver head with opposed sidewalls defining a seating portion configured to seat a spinal fixation element. The spinal connector also inc ludes a connecting rod extending from one of the sidewalls of the receiver h ead and having a first end coupled to the receiver head and a second end con figured to couple to a spinal anchor.
