The drive has a threaded spindle (1), and an actuator (2) that acts together with the spindle, where the actuator is overlapped by an operating slide. The operating slide is connected in a revolving gate by a movable connection. A motor is arranged within a housing with a position measuring device. The threaded spindle and actuator have a trapezoid thread or a rectangle thread. The actuator has a guide groove (4) in an axial direction, and a radial locking groove in a periphery of the device. An independent claim is also included for a drive unit for a drive of a revolving gate.
