PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a door controller for an elevator that can reduce confinement accidents, which are caused by such mischief as forcibly opening the door when the door is closed. SOLUTION: This door controller for the elevator is provided with a passenger approach detection means 14 for outputting a signal due to approach of passenger to a door 2 of the elevator when the door 2 is closed in the vicinity of the door 2, informing means 11, 12 started by the output signal of the passenger approach detection means 14 and torque up directive means 14, 13, 15 for directing increase of torque in the direction for closing the door 2.
