PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a naturally occurring substance for inhibiting ACEs (Angiotensin I Converting Enzymes) which is highly active and safe for food, its manufacturing process and foods and drinks containing it.

SOLUTION: The substance for inhibiting angiotensin I enzymes is obtained by de-phenolating cacao beans and/or the extract of cacao beans. The substance for inhibiting angiotensin I enzymes is composed of amino acid compositions derived from cacao beans and/or the extract of cacao beans. The foods and drinks for inhibiting angiotensin I converting enzymes contains the substance. The manufacturing process of the substance for inhibiting angiotensin I converting enzymes comprises de-phenolating cacao beans and/or the extract of cacao beans. The foods and drinks for inhibiting angiotensin I converting enzymes contains the substance for inhibiting angiotensin I enzymes obtained by the manufacturing process.
