PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image acquisition method capable of shortening the period of time required to acquire images in predetermined one cycle, and to provide a microscopic device having an image aquisition controller. SOLUTION: The image acquisition controller has a control means 2 for controlling the operation of a plurality of optical units 7, including an image acquisition means 4 for acquiring the image of a sample 13, and the plurality of optical units have optical unit control parts 3 and 6 which receive an operation start signal from the control means to start predetermined operation and transmit that a predetermined operation has been completed, to the control means. The control means transmits the operation start signal, to at least one optical unit operated next before receiving a signal showing that the predetermined operation has been finished from the optical unit which is being operated out of the plurality of optical units.
