A dust collecting unit for a vacuum cleaner is provided to combine and separate the dust collecting unit and simplify structure by installing a detachable member for combining a cyclone unit, a dust collecting body, and an upper cover. A dust collecting unit for a vacuum cleaner comprises a dust collecting body(110), a cyclone unit, an upper cover(180), and a detaching member(200). The dust collecting body has a space for storing dust inside. The cyclone unit, which is combined at the upper part of the dust collecting body, separates dust from the inhaled air. The upper cover mounted on the upper part of the cyclone unit guides discharge of air without dust from the cyclone unit. The detachable member combined to the cyclone unit is capable of combining the cyclone unit with the dust collecting body, and the cyclone unit with the upper cover. Further, the detaching member contains a bendable body, a connecting part for being connected with the cyclone unit, and a projection.
