<p>The bill handling system includes a specific recognition mode selecting device for changing over by the clerk, if the distinguishing by a distinguishing unit reveals any abnormality, to a specific recognition mode in which the distinguishing level of bills is altered; an input device for enabling the clerk, in the specific recognition mode, to input first monetary sum calculated by visual observation of the bills returned by a returning device; a processing device for causing the distinguishing unit, in the specific recognition mode, to distinguish the bills returned and inputted again to an inlet/outlet and figuring out second monetary sum on the distinguished bills; and a display for displaying the first monetary sum and the second monetary sum. The bills to be received in the specific recognition mode are, if the first monetary sum and the second monetary sum displayed are found identical with each other, stored into a storage unit on the basis of an inputting operation by the clerk through the input device.</p> |
