MENISCUS SHIELD OF TWIN ROLL STRIP CASTER

A meniscus shield device of a twin roll strip caster is provided to seek casting stability and prevent scum from getting mixed in meniscuses, thereby prevent defects from forming on a surface of a cast strip by constantly maintaining the immersion depth of weirs although the height of a molten metal surface varies in the twin roll strip caster. A meniscus shield device of a twin roll strip caster includes: weirs(30) made from a material having a specific gravity lower than that of molten metal; weir holders(31) fixed onto upper portions of the weirs to hold the weirs; weir holding rods(32) connected to top faces of the weir holders to enable the weirs to move vertically; and sliding holes(23) vertically penetrated into meniscus shields(20) such that the weir holding rods vertically move through the sliding holes. The weirs are made from alumina graphite. The weir holding rods have fixing nuts(33) fitted onto upper portions thereof. The sliding holes are penetrated into the meniscus shields such that the sliding holes are angled to a molten metal surface in an angle range of 45 to 90 degrees.
