PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inspecting coating members for interface defects, making clear the interfaces between interface defect parts and sound parts when the interface defect parts of the coating members are to be detected, and nondestructively detecting the shapes and sizes of the interface defect parts. SOLUTION: In the method for inspecting coating members for interface defects and nondestructively inspecting interface defect parts of a coating member, with which substrate surfaces of a metal structure are coated, some location of the coating member is spot-heated to determine a state of thermal diffusion to its periphery from the spot-heated location as center, as a coating surface temperature distribution. Cracks present in the substrate are detected, on the basis of uneven parts of thermal diffusion in the determined coating surface temperature distribution. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
