A description is given of a prefabricated cellar (11) as a part-basement for prefabricated houses (12), which cellar is provided with a foundation and a ceiling (24) which bears on vertical load-bearing elements and upon which the prefabricated house (12) can be erected. In order to achieve a more rapid and cost-effective erection of such a prefabricated cellar (11) and to enable the building owner to perform a considerably larger proportion of DIY in its construction, the vertical load-bearing elements are formed by a plurality of supports (14) distributed in rows and/or columns over the surface to built upon. These supports consist of reinforced concrete and are retained in point foundations (16) which are laid in a frost-proof manner and upon which horizontal beams (18), which form a part of the ceiling (24), bear. <IMAGE>
