<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery storage device which efficiently cools an Li-ion battery in a simple structure, and prevents the emission of white smoke even if an increase in the surface temperature of the Li-ion battery results in a jet of a gasfied electrolyte. <P>SOLUTION: The Li-ion battery 2 is stored in a battery storage chamber 1a of a storage container 1. The battery storage chamber 1a is also filled with a coolant 11, and communicates with a canister 5 via a relief valve 4. Heat generated from the Li-ion battery 2 is cooled with the coolant 11. When the Li-ion battery 2 comes to have a high temperature due to excess charge, etc., to cause a gasfied electrolyte to jet out, part of the gasfied electrolyte is cooled with the coolant 11 and is turned into a liquid which dissolves into the coolant 11. When the internal pressure of the storage container 1 rises due to the volume expansion of nonliquified vaporizing gas, the relief valve 4 opens to cause the gasfied electrolyte to be sucked into the canister 5 which eliminates a white smoke element. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
