PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition capable of improving a low heat generation property and a wet gripping property. SOLUTION: The rubber composition comprises, based on 100 pts.wt. of a rubber component containing at least one rubber selected from the group consisting of natural rubber, isoprene rubber, styrene butadiene rubber, butadiene rubber, epoxidized natural rubber, acrylonitrile butadiene rubber, ethylene propylene rubber, butyl rubber and halogenated butyl rubber, 0.5-250 pts.wt. of self-dispersing carbon black obtained by a wet oxidation treatment using a hypohalite.
