PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of failures by making a daisy chain connection having a high real-time property between a host and a plurality of slaves. SOLUTION: An inkjet recording apparatus includes a head drive control means which inputs drive data having data essential to drive an inkjet head unit and converted as serial data so as to drive the head unit, and through which the serial data are output to a post processing apparatus. The head drive control means includes: a serial/parallel conversion section which converts the serial driving data input from a preceding inkjet head unit to parallel driving data; an identification information setting means which sets the identification information for selecting and obtaining a signal essential to drive the inkjet head unit; a data extracting section which selects and obtains the signal essential to drive the inkjet head unit from the identification information; and a data processing section which conducts process for driving the inkjet heat unit by the signal essential to drive the inkjet head unit selected and obtained by the data extracting section.
