Disclosed is a portable measuring system (210) for analyzing a liquid sample on at least one analyte that is contained therein. Said portable measuring system (210) comprises a moisture-proof housing (212) that has an interior housing atmosphere (214). The moisture-proof housing (212) prevents humidity and/or steam from penetrating into the interior housing atmosphere (214). The inventive portable measuring system (210) further comprises at least one test element support (216) which is introduced into the interior housing atmosphere (214). Said at least one test element support (216) is equipped with at least one retaining structure (218) and at least one test element (112) that is supported by the at least one retaining structure (218). The at least one test element support (216) is designed such that the at least one test element (112) is exposed to the interior housing atmosphere (214) after being introduced thereinto. A releasing mechanism (228) is also provided which can convey at least one test element (112) into an application position (230) within the interior housing atmosphere (214). The liquid sample can be applied to the at least one test element (112) in said application position (230).
