PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically determine whether a specific image area of an image to be newly imaged is effective or not in comparing it with the image which has been imaged already. SOLUTION: Face image data are automatically extracted by using a face detecting technique, a photographic subject is automatically identified by collating it with a database imaged and stored in the past, and information is displayed on a display based on a result of the identification.
