PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide carotenoid-containing powder of high stability obtained from a culture solution of TSUG1C11(Accession No.:FERM P-19416), a variant(e.g. see Patent Publication No.2005-058216 Gazette) of marine bacterium Agrobacterium strain N-81106 (e.g. see Patent Publication No.3570714 Gazette), strain TSN18E7(Accession No.:FERM P-19746)(e.g. see Patent Publication No.2005-058216 Gazette) or the like, and to provide a method for producing the powder. SOLUTION: The carotenoid-containing powder is obtained by adding a water-soluble antioxidant to a suspension of carotenoid-productive marine bacteria followed by evaporating the resultant suspension to dryness.
