<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording paper which is excellent in coating layer strength, conveying properties, ink absorbing properties and deviation of printing, and effectively utilizes biomass resources by incorporating a fiber obtained from parenchyma cell of a plant in an ink receiving layer in the inkjet recording paper. <P>SOLUTION: The inkjet recording paper having at least one ink receiving layer in which a pigment and a binder are main components on at least one face of a substrate, is characterized in that the fiber obtained from the parenchyma cell of the plant is incorporated as a binder in the ink receiving layer. It is preferable that the content of the parenchyma cell fiber is 3-50 pts.mass to 100 pts.mass pigment in the ink receiving layer. The parenchyma cell is preferably derived from sugar beet or sugarcane.
