PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vending machine for satisfactorily defrosting a heat exchanger inside a heat insulation container communicated with each merchandise storage container. SOLUTION: This vending machine is provided with a common heat insulation container 31 communicated with the inside of a plurality of merchandise storage container 5; an inside air fan F arranged in each merchandise storage container 5 for circulating inside atmosphere between the merchandise storage container 5 and the heat insulation container 31; and an evaporation heat exchanger 22 arranged inside the heat insulation container 31 for cooling the inside atmosphere passing inside the heat insulation container 31. This vending machine is also provided with a plurality of temperature sensors S for defrosting arranged in places corresponding to the respective merchandise storage containers 5 of the evaporation heat exchanger 22 for detecting the temperature of each place; and a controller 40 for driving the inside air fan F for defrosting when the detected temperature is lower than a preliminarily set defrosting release temperature in response to the issue of a defrosting operation command.
