The invention relates to a method for the operation of a pipe organ, with at least one of the valves 16 being provided as a valve 16 actuated in multiple ways which can be controlled to open at least on the basis of two different note demands. On the occurrence of a note demand on a valve 16 actuated in multiple ways which is already open due to another note demand, the valve 16 actuated in multiple ways is closed for an interruption time period and then opened again. Control information may be input at a console and transmitted via a data bus 26 to remote receiver units 10 which are connected to the valves 16. The receiver units 10 may determine individually from the information transmitted whether, and if so, which of the valves 16 connected to the respective receiver unit 10 are to be opened or closed. The ideal interruption time period is between 40ms and 70ms, and different valves 16 may have different interruption time periods. |
