<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for detecting a flicker of an imaging apparatus that use an imaging device having an imaging element using a CMOS and can securely detect a flicker under even any photographic condition. <P>SOLUTION: The method uses the imaging apparatus which accumulates electric charges in respective pixels arrayed in a matrix form and reads them out by scanning in pixel row units, divides one-frame image data vertically into a plurality of frames to calculate mean luminances by the frames, finds differences in mean luminance between corresponding frames of successive frame image data, and performs flicker detection for extracting a flicker component to detect whether there is a flicker included in the image data and its frequency. When the flicker detection is performed, the charge accumulation time of the imaging device is made shorter than blinking cycles of a light source which generates the flicker. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
