摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display driving apparatus which can stably drive a display panel without malfunction even if an interval between discharge cells is reduced, and achieves display of a high quality video. SOLUTION: A detection circuit 4 detects a light-emitting pixel ratio of one screen from R, G, B digital data from A/D converter circuits 1, 2, 3 and input the ratio to a control pulse power supply 5 as a signal Vcont. According to the light-emitting pixel ratio, the power supply 5 lowers a sub-field reset voltage for an image with a low light-emitting pixel ratio, and raises the sub-field reset voltage for an image with a high ratio. A signal processing circuit 7 applies processing necessary for display to the R, G, B digital signals from the A/D converter circuits 1, 2, 3. A drive circuit 8 inserts a control pulse or the like necessary for display into the signal from the processing circuit 7 from the power supply 6 and converts it to voltage for turning on the display panel 9. Thus, even if the interval between the discharge cells is small, the occurrence of a bright spot or the like in a dark screen can be prevented and reset discharge in a bright screen can be surely performed, and the panel 9 can be stably driven without malfunction.
