PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device which allows the relative position of a display panel and a function panel to be highly precisely controlled and is excellent in display grade and reliability. SOLUTION: The display device has such a structure that the display panel having a display element between a pair of substrates is stacked on the function panel having at least one substrate, wherein an adhesive layer is disposed between the display panel on a display region and the function panel, and the display and/or the function panel has an adhesive sump part of a groove part, an inclination part or the like on a non-display region.
