PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated granular material which is coated with a resin decomposable in soil, has excellent elution controllability for a bioactive substance and contains the bioactive substance. SOLUTION: The coated granular material is prepared by coating the bioactive substance-containing granular material with the urethane resin obtained by reacting an aromatic polyisocyanate with a polyester polyol having an oxycarbonyl [-O-C(=O)-] partial structure in a ratio of≥15% (by weight) in a molecule and a polyol containing a diol expressed by general formula (1) [in the formula, Z expresses Z<SP>1</SP>or Z<SP>2</SP>CO<SB>2</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>and Z<SP>1</SP>and Z<SP>2</SP>respectively express a 4-30C linear hydrocarbon group].
