The method involves executing an exchange software (101), that diffuses data towards clients based on a selective exchange protocol, by sources or seeders (9m) e.g. personal computers, where the protocol permits the sources to select the clients based on characteristics of the clients. The false data is addressed to the sources for influencing the selection of the clients presented by the sources to privilege the transfer of data towards controlled clients (6i). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer system for preventing illegal propagation of protected data (2) a computer program product comprising instructions for implementing an illegal propagation preventing method.
