PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid container equipped with a means which accurately detects a residual quantity of a liquid in the liquid container of a simple constitution that prevents the liquid from leaking outside, particularly a means which simply improves an accuracy for detecting the residual quantity just before the liquid runs out, and to provide a method for detecting the residual quantity of the liquid in the liquid container. SOLUTION: The liquid container is made to be a two-chamber constitution of different volumes. Detection of the residual quantity is started as triggered in the wake of the fact that the liquid in the chamber of a small volume is used after the liquid in the chamber of a large volume is used.
