ARRANGEMENT FOR DETERMINING THE OPERATIONAL CHARACTERISTICS OF A HIGH-FREQUENCY POWER AMPLIFIER

In order to determine the operational characteristics (e.g. the complex load impedance or the complex forward and reflected power and/or the reflection factor or the ripple factor) of a power converter (1) on a connection line (3) between the outlet of the power converter (1) and a complex load (4), the complex analog forward and reflected voltage on the connection line (3) is determined by means of an analog coupling device (5). Said analog voltages are respectively digitalised and reduced in the base band by means of a digital down converter. The desired operational characteristics are calculated in a computer (12) from said digital values provided in the base band and the amount and the phase corresponding to the complex forward and reflected voltage.
