TIRE USING TREAD COMPRISING HIGHLY SILICA-CONTAINING RUBBER FOR PERFORMANCE FOR WINTER SEASON

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tire having a tread aiming performances for winter season. SOLUTION: The tire tread comprises reinforcing fillers comprising precipitated silica having a low BET nitrogen specific surface area and optionally carbon black for reinforcing rubber, and a compatible rubber compound comprising at least 40 phr of cis-1,4-polybutadiene rubber and high vinyl content SBR produced by specified solution polymerization. The compatibility of a combination of BR having -100°C or lower relatively low glass transition temperature (Tg) with HVS-SBR having at least 30°C or higher relatively high Tg (thereby, the difference of Tg is at least 70°C) is promoted by a high HVS-SBR vinyl content of about 40 to 50 percent on the basis of the polybutadiene component.
