PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat cable having a simple structure, and manufactured by accurately setting an interval dimension of a sheet-like insulation tape used as a product interval. SOLUTION: In this flat cable manufacturing method of manufacturing this flat cable 45, an insulation tape 19 is attached to one-side surfaces of a plurality of conductors 3 arranged in parallel with one another, and sheet-like insulation tapes 25 each having a predetermined length are discontinuously attached to the other-side surfaces of the plurality of conductors 3. The flat cable manufacturing method is characterized in that partial parts on the front side in the traveling direction of each sheet-like insulation tape 25 having the predetermined length are tentatively fixed to excessive wires 11 respectively arranged on both end sides of the plurality of conductors 3 while the excessive wires 11 are traveling at the same velocity as that of the plurality of conductors 3, thereafter all of the plurality of conductors 3, the sheet-like insulation tapes 25 tentatively fixed to the excessive wires 11, and the insulation tape 19 are made to pass between a pair of heat rolls 29 to be regularly laminated to manufacture the flat cable.
