<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting system which can act as a combined condensing and diffusing unit and can be used for both portable and stationary applications in disaster situations, where a condensing illumination targeted for relatively narrow areas is important, and still a diffusing illumination targeted for relatively wide areas becomes required. <P>SOLUTION: The lighting system is composed of a bottomed body case which has a battery accommodation for accommodating a battery and on top of which a switch is mounted; a front base to hold a reflector and lens, removably mounted onto the opening of the body case; and a terminal board disposed between the reflector and battery which holds a bulb, and provides a conducting strip electrically connecting the battery and bulb.
