PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a software requirement description support system and method capable of excluding specifications omission, and description ambiguity and contradiction in an upstream process of software development by describing a requirement not only at an item level but also designating a construction. SOLUTION: A server 13 is internally provided with a function syntax definition file 1, a quality syntax definition file 2, an abnormal system syntax definition file 3, and a requirement input processing part 6 which extracts an item of a function requirement defined in the function construction definition file 1 relating to function heading and its requirement description syntax when the function heading is inputted, extracts an item of a quality requirement defined in the quality syntax definition file 2 relating to the function heading and its requirement description syntax, extracts an item of an abnormal system requirement defined in the abnormal system syntax definition file 3 relating to the function heading and its requirement description syntax and can describe requirements to the respective extracted requirement description constructions.
