A non real time instant message service providing method in a mobile communication network and a mobile terminal for the same are provided to confirm a transceived message through one screen window by providing a real time conversation type service like a messenger by using a non real time message, thereby contributing to convenience. A non real time instant message service providing method comprises the following steps of: receiving an instant message configured with a non real time message through a mobile communication network(S710); checking whether an existing window for conversation with a transmitter of the instant message is present and if so, calling the conversation window and if not, generating a second conversation window(S720,S730,S732); displaying the instant message received in the called conversation window or the second conversation window(S740); receiving and transmitting a response message for the instant message through the called conversation window or the second conversation window(S780); and checking whether a re-response message for the response message is transmitted and if so, repeating the above second to fifth steps(S792).
