A first embodiment comprises an LCD having a transparent conductive line 135, on a first substrate 110, which contacts a common electrode 144, on a second substrate 140 via conductive balls 156, contained within a sealant 150. The conductive line also contacts another electrode 130 located on the first substrate. A second embodiment provides an observation region where the sealant extends parallel to a first electrode without overlapping and a third embodiment includes an etched portion of a common voltage line which allows the sealant to be inspected. |
