A method for preventing erroneous ignition lags is provided to reliably detect combustion knock by filtering out erroneous detection of high frequency vibration caused by noise. A method for preventing erroneous ignition delay includes a step of performing a process of ignition delay and starting to count time for a cylinder where knock signals are above the knock threshold and determined as a knock by monitoring knock signals and comparing with knock threshold, a step of comparing elapsed time with a predetermined reference time when knock signals are above the knock threshold value, and a step of stopping ignition delay on the cylinder by determining the knock signals as noise when counted time is within the predetermined reference time and continue counting time after previous ignition delay.
