An LCD is provided to reduce the manufacturing cost and prevent an afterimage in image change by forming a voltage supply electrode and a contact hole in a connecting portion that connects sub-pixels with each other. An LCD includes an array substrate, a color filter substrate, and a liquid crystal layer filled therebetween. A pixel is divided into a plurality of sub-pixels(43). A voltage supply electrode is formed in a thin film transistor(Tr) for driving the pixel. A contact hole(20) electrically connects electrodes for applying a voltage to the liquid crystal layer. The voltage supply electrode and the contact hole are formed in a connecting portion that connects the sub-pixels with each other. A resin layer for forming a step difference is formed at the thin film transistor to change a cell thickness of the liquid crystal layer. The resin layer covers at least a portion of the thin film transistor. The contact hole is disposed in an area without the resin layer and adjacent to the step difference. |
