An LCD and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to remove a part of a transparent conductive layer between metal layers in a common wire, thereby transferring light to a photo-curable sealant sufficiently. A first substrate and a second substrate face each other, and an active area and a dummy area are defined between the first substrate and the second substrate. A common wire(200) consists of a plurality of metal layers(201) formed in the dummy area of the first substrate, and transparent conductive layers(202) deposited on the metal layers except regions between adjacent metal layers. A light-curable sealant(250) is formed on the common wire between the first substrate and the second substrate to bond the first substrate and the second substrate. A liquid crystal layer is formed between the bonded first and second substrates. |
