The invention relates to a can, especially for receiving drinks, comprisi ng an essentially cylindrical casing (1) which is closed on each end thereof by means of a cover plate (2) connected to the casing (1), and a closing el ement (3) which is provided in a recess of a cover plate (2) in order to be able to open the can in a recloseable manner. The recess of the cover plate (2) is surrounded by a first section (13) of the cover plate (2), said secti on being in the form of a truncated cone, tapering off towards the inside of the can and extending between a circular bent edge (17) and a circular edge (20) which defines the recess. The closing element (3) has an essentially c ylindrical holding section (7) which is inserted into the recess of the cove r plate (2) and comprises a peripheral groove (21) which receives the first truncated cone section (13) of the cover plate (2) and is defined towards th e outer side of the can by a second projection (2) on which the bent edge (1 7) is supported. When the can is closed, a screw closure (5) of the closing element (3) is supported on the second projection (8).
