A system for downlink data branching in a base station, includes: a baseband processing unit, multiple antennas and RF subsystems, wherein the antennas are connected to the RF subsystems respectively. A method for downlink data branching in a system, includes: the downlink baseband signals in a cell generated by the baseband processing unit are transmitted to the RF subsystems corresponding to all the antennas covering the cell; the RF subsystems convert the received downlink baseband signals into downlink RF signals respectively, which are then amplified and delivered to the connected antennas for transmission. There are also provided a system, method and a base station system for uplink data merging in a base station. The system and the method according to the present invention may improve the utilization of the power amplifier, reduce the loss of the power of the received signals and enable the flexible configuration of the system.
