A digital broadcasting caption service method in a mobile terminal is provided to increase the convenience of users by enabling a user to watch a digital broadcast program in a desired language. A control part in a mobile terminal confirms whether a specific language has been set and whether a digital broadcasting caption function and a digital broadcasting function are in an active state(S201). If so, the control part requests a transmission center to provide a caption service(S203). In response to the mobile terminal's request, the transmission center transmits a response signal. At this moment, the transmission center transmits key information to display subtitles in the appointed language(S205). Then, the control part confirms whether the digital broadcasting function is being driven(S207). If so, the control part searches for desired digital broadcasting contents and requests the transmission center to provide the searched contents(S209). In this case, the control part transmits the appointed language information together. If the requested contents and associated subtitles translated in plural languages are provided from the transmission center(S211), the control part decodes the contents together with the key information(S213). The control part displays the contents and the translated subtitles in the appointed language(S215).
